BREAKING: The 6’5 275 DL from Norcross, GA chose the Bulldogs over Florida State, NC State, & Ohio State

Georgia secured a commitment from 4-star defensive lineman Carter Luckie, who is set to join the Bulldogs in 2026, continuing a strong family legacy with the program.

Luckie announced his decision to On3 on Saturday, choosing Kirby Smart’s Bulldogs over Florida State. NC State and reigning national champion Ohio State were also contenders for his commitment.

Landing the 6-foot-5, 275-pound Norcross native is a significant win for Georgia. His arrival will boost the depth of the defensive line starting in 2026 and represents another in-state recruiting victory for Smart.

This commitment also reinforces a deep family connection to the Bulldogs. Carter is the younger brother of current Georgia tight end Lawson Luckie, and there’s a chance the two could play together if Lawson returns for the 2026 season. Their father, Mike Luckie, was a linebacker for Georgia from 1996 to 1998, and their uncles, Dustin and Miles, also played for the Bulldogs—at linebacker and offensive line, respectively.

According to the 247Sports Composite, Carter is the No. 318 overall player in the 2026 class, the No. 39 defensive lineman, and ranks No. 40 in the state of Georgia.

Fans can expect to see Carter Luckie in red and black in 2026, proudly continuing the Luckie family’s storied tradition at Georgia.
