The New York Giants have reportedly signed Veteran quarterback to a one-year contract.
According to NFL Network and ESPN, the deal guarantees Wilson $10.5 million, with the potential to earn up to $21 million.
Wilson, 36, appeared in 11 games for the Pittsburgh Steelers last season, completing 63.7% of his passes for 2,482 yards, 16 touchdowns, and five interceptions. He led the Steelers to a 6-5 record in his starts, marking his first winning season since 2020.
The Giants will be Wilson’s third team in as many seasons. Before spending last year in Pittsburgh, he played for the Denver Broncos in 2022 and 2023.
New York began last season with Daniel Jones as its starting quarterback but released him in November. The team’s current quarterback roster includes Tommy DeVito and recently signed Jameis Winston.
Once considered a top MVP contender, Wilson’s performance has declined in recent years.
Last offseason, Wilson agreed to a one-year contract with the Steelers after the Broncos absorbed an $85 million salary-cap hit to release him. Despite not playing for Denver, he still earned over $37 million from the team last season.
Pittsburgh started last season with Justin Fields as its quarterback, but Wilson took over after six games. He won five of his first six starts but closed out the regular season with a 1-4 record. Wilson also started in the Steelers’ first-round playoff loss to the Baltimore Ravens.
Selected by the Seattle Seahawks in the third round of the 2012 draft, Wilson has thrown for 350 touchdowns and 46,135 yards in his career, posting a 99.8 passer rating. A 10-time Pro Bowler, he played a key role in the Seahawks’ victory over the Broncos in Super Bowl 48 in 2014.
