TRADE ALERT: Packers Make Shocking Trade to Shake Up Offensive Line. Details

The Green Bay Packers have focused on strengthening their offensive line depth this offseason. However, they might explore a major trade to gain draft assets and make changes at the starting tackle positions.

According to Dan Saia of Zone Coverage, the Packers could consider trading starting offensive tackle Rasheed Walker, a former seventh-round pick from Penn State, in the coming weeks.Green Bay Packers, Rasheed WalkerSaia suggests that with both Walker and Zack Tom approaching contract extensions soon, Green Bay may prioritize securing Tom, who has been one of the most consistently outstanding offensive linemen in recent years.

“Since taking over at right tackle, Tom has arguably been Green Bay’s top offensive lineman,” Saia writes for Zone Coverage. “In 2024, he earned an 87.6 grade from Pro Football Focus, ranking as the fourth-highest-rated tackle in the league. He was also selected as PFF’s first-team All-Pro at right tackle, surpassing stars like Lane Johnson and Penei Sewell. As a key part of Green Bay’s future, the Packers are expected to extend him—it’s just a question of the length and cost of the deal.”
