REPORT: Steelers LB Sends Bold Warning to Derrick Henry And Ravens Amid Trade

Steelers Linebacker is the latest Baltimore Ravens player to switch sides and join the division rival Pittsburgh Steelers, following in the footsteps of linebacker Patrick Queen, safety DeShon Elliott, and others.

Like those before him, Harrison wasted no time sending a message to his former team.

When asked about his ability to help contain Derrick Henry and Baltimore’s formidable rushing attack, Harrison confidently asserted that he could make a significant impact for Pittsburgh.

“Going against him in practice, you have to hold back because you don’t want to mess with the church money,” Harrison said during his introductory press conference on March 13. “Now that I’m on the other side, I can really unleash and dominate the way I know I can.”Aug 24, 2024; Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA; Baltimore Ravens linebacker Malik Harrison (40) during warmups prior to the game against the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field. However, the next two meetings told a different story.

In Week 16, Henry exploded for 162 rushing yards, averaging nearly seven yards per carry, as Baltimore secured a 34-17 win. He followed that up with an even more dominant performance in the Wild Card Round, racking up 186 yards and two touchdowns while averaging 7.2 yards per carry in a 28-14 Ravens victory. Meanwhile, Pittsburgh’s rushing attack was nearly nonexistent, managing just 29 yards—less than a sixth of Henry’s total.

To Harrison’s credit, he is a formidable run defender. At 6-foot-3 and 255 pounds, he played a key role in Baltimore’s top-ranked run defense last season, primarily being utilized in run-stopping situations down the stretch.

However, as many defenders can attest, bringing down Henry is no easy task. Despite that, Harrison is eager for the challenge.

“I’ve always been aggressive—I don’t shy away from contact,” he said. “I thrive on physicality. If someone gets me, I’m going to get them back.”
