Trade rumors are swirling around Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill, with the Dallas Cowboys emerging as a potential landing spot for the eight-time Pro Bowler.
Speculation about Hill’s future intensified after an emotional postgame comment following the season finale, where he stated, “It was great playing here, but at the end of the day, I have to do what’s best for my career.” Although he later clarified that his remarks stemmed from frustration, a series of cryptic social media posts have continued to fuel uncertainty.
The Cowboys are in need of a dependable No. 2 receiver alongside CeeDee Lamb. Hill, despite a somewhat underwhelming season with 81 receptions, 959 yards, and six touchdowns, remains an elite talent. At 31, he is just a year removed from leading the league in both receiving yards and touchdowns.CBS Sports’ Cody Benjamin named Dallas as a potential suitor for Hill in a major trade scenario.
“The Cowboys once thrived on making splashy moves but have been relatively quiet in recent years. Trading for Hill would be the type of blockbuster deal that puts them back in the spotlight,” Benjamin noted. “Though Hill is aging, Dallas has shown interest in acquiring a proven counterpart for Lamb, as seen in their pursuit of Cooper Kupp. Plus, they still have over $30 million in 2025 salary cap space.”
Lamb has proven he can produce even in challenging circumstances, managing 101 catches for 1,194 yards and six touchdowns in 15 games despite injuries and quarterback Dak Prescott missing time.
Cowboys Seeking Dynamic Playmaker at Receiver
Dallas recently lost veteran wideout Brandin Cooks, who signed a two-year deal with the New Orleans Saints, reuniting with former Cowboys offensive coordinator Kellen Moore.
With Lamb as the clear No. 1 option, the Cowboys currently have Jalen Tolbert, KaVontae Turpin, and Parris Campbell on the roster but lack a clear-cut second option. Co-owner Stephen Jones emphasized that the team remains open to adding an experienced playmaker.
“We’re still exploring options for an explosive No. 2 receiver to strengthen our offense,” Jones said. “But I also like the group we currently have.”
