The New York Giants have been highly active this offseason as they aim to reenter playoff contention. The front office has made several moves to bolster the roster.
One of the key additions is Russell Wilson, who has been signed as the new starting quarterback, with Jameis Winston brought in as his backup. Despite this, rumors about the Giants’ interest in Shedeur Sanders continue to circulate.
In addition to the quarterback position, New York has made several other significant changes, including acquiring cornerback Paulson Adebo, safety Jevon Holland, offensive lineman James Hudson III, and re-signing wide receiver Darius Slayton. While these moves have been well-received, there’s another potential addition on the horizon. The Giants are now predicted to select an intriguing 3,500-yard wide receiver to further enhance their offensive weapons, whether it’s Wilson or another quarterback under center.
Vinnie Iyer of The Sporting News has projected that New York will use the No. 65 overall pick in the third round to select Ole Miss wide receiver Tre Harris. According to Iyer, the Giants could use Harris as a strong complementary target alongside veteran Darius Slayton. Harris’ size and ability to make possession catches make him a solid fit for the team.
Harris recently concluded an impressive college career, with 220 receptions for 3,532 yards and 29 touchdowns over 51 games split between Louisiana Tech and Ole Miss. Standing at 6-foot-2 and just over 200 pounds, Harris would be an ideal long-term partner for Malik Nabers, and combined with Slayton, they could form a formidable trio at wide receiver.
Though this is just a projection, it’s one the Giants would likely be eager to make a reality if the opportunity arises.
