SAD NEWS: Former MLB Pitcher Tragically Dies from Injuries in Dominican Republic Nightclub Incident

Former major league pitcher, who played 15 seasons including two with the White Sox, passed away on Tuesday after being injured when the roof of a nightclub in the Dominican Republic collapsed. The country’s sports ministry confirmed his death to USA Today.

The tragic collapse at the Jet Set nightclub in Santo Domingo resulted in at least 44 fatalities and over 130 injuries.

During his two seasons with the White Sox, Dotel held a 3.55 ERA over 134 appearances.

The New York Mets observed a moment of silence in his honor prior to Tuesday’s game at Citi Field.
