Just in: Francisco Lindo Gives worrying Update on Major Mets Decision.

The New York Mets currently boast the best record in Major League Baseball at 18-7, riding a seven-game win streak after an intense extra-innings win over the Phillies on Tuesday.

Their strong start has been a collective effort, but Francisco Lindor has been a standout. Over 25 games, he’s hitting .309 with 5 home runs and 14 RBIs across 97 at-bats, anchoring the lineup with consistent production.

According to Desha Tossa of Fox Sports MLB, Francisco Lindor’s impressive season can be traced back to some tough advice from former player Eric Chavez, who joined the team as a hitting coach.

Lindor shared that during a conversation last October, Chavez told him there were stretches of the season where it seemed like he wasn’t fully present. “That really struck a chord with me,” Lindor admitted.

In his 17-year MLB career, Eric Chavez earned six Gold Gloves and a Silver Slugger, giving him the credentials to inspire a star like Francisco Lindor—even before Juan Soto joined the roster—helping build a strong lineup alongside Pete Alonso and Brandon Nimmo.

Lindor appreciated the comments made about him, seeing them as motivation. As a key player, he’s central to the Mets’ hopes of becoming World Series contenders, with enough talent to challenge teams like the Dodgers and Padres.

“I didn’t take it the wrong way,” Lindor said. “I saw it as the truth. If you go 0-for-30, it’s like you weren’t even there. When you waste five at-bats in a game, it’s a day you didn’t show up. I took that seriously.”
