After not being picked in the 2025 NFL Draft, Arkansas redshirt senior Andrew Armstrong has secured a new opportunity. The Miami Dolphins revealed they have signed the former Razorbacks wide receiver as an undrafted free agent. This move gives Armstrong a shot at pursuing a professional football career. He enters a strong and competitive receiver group in Miami, offering size, proven performance, and room to grow as he aims to earn a spot on the team.
Armstrong began his college football journey at Texas A&M-Commerce before transferring to Arkansas for the 2023 season. During his two years with the Razorbacks, he started all 23 games and became a crucial part of their offense, recording 134 receptions for 1,904 yards and six touchdowns. His standout 2024 season saw him lead the team with 78 catches for 1,140 yards, earning him First-Team All-SEC honors. However, despite his impressive stats, he went undrafted—largely due to concerns about his athleticism and ability to create separation at the professional level.
Standing at 6-foot-4 and weighing 202 pounds, Armstrong has the prototypical frame for an NFL wide receiver and recorded an impressive Relative Athletic Score (RAS) of 8.58, placing him well above the historical average at his position. His showing at the NFL Combine earned him a 73 athleticism score from NFL Next Gen Stats, ranking him 24th among receivers in this draft class. Still, scouts highlight key areas for growth. NFL analyst Lance Zierlein described him as a “long-limbed, tight-hipped” receiver who lacks burst out of his routes and struggles to create separation. With a prospect grade of 5.94, he’s viewed as a potential backup or special teams contributor, meaning he’ll need to prove himself through development and adaptability.
