Just In: 3Key Georgia football Players Lost to transfer Portal after 2025 Draft.

Georgia football has quickly established itself as one of the top beneficiaries of the transfer portal this offseason. However, despite their overall success, the Bulldogs didn’t come out unscathed, as they also saw a few important players transfer out.

While not every departure was devastating, some of these losses could come back to haunt Georgia fans later this fall.

1. QB Carson Beck
As much as fans may not want to acknowledge it, losing quarterback Carson Beck was a significant blow. Though he had some limitations last season, Beck was a proven winner with experience competing at the highest level—something his replacements can’t yet claim.

Georgia will turn to either Gunner Stockton or Ryan Puglisi this fall, both of whom would be making their first collegiate starts. That uncertainty makes Beck’s exit even more impactful, especially since he was capable of leading the Bulldogs back to an SEC title.

If Georgia’s quarterback situation falters this season, many fans might end up regretting Beck’s departure.

2. EDGE Damon Wilson
One of the more surprising exits came when EDGE rusher Damon Wilson transferred to Missouri. While he didn’t post eye-popping numbers—just three sacks in 2024—Wilson was expected to emerge as a starter and a key contributor in 2025.

Rather than stepping into a leadership role in Athens, Wilson chose to join a conference rival. Georgia did manage to land Elo Modozie from Army, who could potentially be an upgrade, but Wilson’s absence will still be felt throughout the year.

3. CB Julian Humphrey
This may be a somewhat debatable choice, but cornerback Julian Humphrey was another notable loss. He played a significant role in the secondary for much of the 2024 season before losing his starting spot and falling out of the rotation.

Some might argue that losing a player who didn’t finish the season as a starter isn’t a big deal. Still, the potential for offseason development leaves room for what could have been. Plus, experienced depth in the secondary is always valuable.

Georgia did reinforce the secondary through the portal, softening the blow, but Humphrey would’ve been a dependable depth piece at the very least.
