With an influx of young talent, the Las Vegas Raiders are making tough roster decisions, and some veterans are being edged out. Following the draft and undrafted free agency, the team has added 26 rookies—almost half the number of players allowed on a regular-season roster. Among the cuts is wide receiver Jeff Foreman, who has been waived with a failed physical designation. Foreman, an undrafted signing last year, never saw game action despite injuries at his position.
Now under the leadership of new head coach Pete Carroll, the Raiders are reshaping their roster. Foreman’s chances were slim from the start, especially with the team bringing in three drafted wide receivers and one more as an undrafted signee. One newcomer drawing attention is second-round pick Jack Bech, who recently shared his experience working with Carroll after the first rookie minicamp practice.
“You’ve got to be conditioned,” Bech said. “Being in football shape is different from just being in shape. I’m excited to keep coming out here, learning from one of the greatest coaches of all time, and improving both physically and mentally.”
