Breaking: Nick Saban Blows Hot Drop Bold Message To Trump On…

Nick Saban isn’t changing his position on the proposed college sports commission reportedly being formed by former President Donald Trump, a panel Saban would allegedly help lead as co-chair.

“There’s been a lot of talk about some kind of commission, but I’ve already said I don’t think we need one,” Saban stated. “The issues in college athletics are clear — what we really need are people ready to take action and find real solutions. I’m happy to serve as an advisor to anyone who believes my experience could help shape those solutions.”Nick Saban's unexpected reaction to 9/11 recounted in bookSaban acknowledged Trump’s strong interest in college sports, noting that the former president values athletics and the role they play in student development, graduation rates, and maintaining competitive fairness. Saban reiterated his willingness to consult with anyone working toward a better future for college athletics.

The 73-year-old former Alabama coach also voiced support for players benefiting from name, image, and likeness (NIL) opportunities.

“I’m not against NIL,” he said. “I fully support players earning money. But I don’t think the current system is sustainable, and many would agree. We need to consider how to keep the entire structure of college sports intact — not just football, but also the 20 other non-revenue sports that offer meaningful opportunities for young athletes.”

Saban reiterated these thoughts during the Regions Tradition Celebrity Pro-Am golf event in Birmingham, echoing his ongoing concerns about the direction of college sports.
