Bulldogs just lost one of their top commits, But Dawgs look ready to replace him with 4-star …

Georgia’s once-promising 2026 wide receiver class has taken a blow. The Bulldogs had secured commitments from three top-tier receivers, but that changed on Monday when four-star prospect Vance Spafford announced he is decommitting from Georgia and pledging to Miami instead.

Spafford, a top-100 national prospect and the No. 9 wide receiver in the class, originally committed to Georgia last November and was considered one of the cornerstones of the Bulldogs’ 2026 class. His flip to the Hurricanes marks the second major recruiting loss Georgia has suffered to Miami this cycle.Mission Viejo v De La SalleEarlier in the year, four-star cornerback Jontavius Wyman also backed off his Georgia pledge in favor of Miami. Adding to the trend, former Bulldogs quarterback Carson Beck made headlines by transferring to Miami this offseason, signaling that the Hurricanes are gaining unexpected momentum over Georgia on the recruiting trail.

UGA Eyes a Quick Replacement

With Spafford out of the picture, Georgia now has an opportunity to bring in another receiver to round out its class. Fortunately for the Bulldogs, they may not have to wait long.

Four-star wideout Craig Dandridge is set to announce his college decision on Thursday, June 26, and Georgia is currently seen as the favorite to land him. While things can still shift before his announcement, UGA fans have reason to be optimistic.

If Dandridge commits, he’ll join Ryan Mosley and Brady Marchese as the third receiver in Georgia’s class. His addition would likely wrap up wide receiver recruiting for the Bulldogs in 2026 — assuming Georgia can seal the deal in the coming days.
