Ronald Acuña Jr. is officially headed to the 2025 MLB All-Star Game, and for the Atlanta Braves, the timing and location couldn’t be more perfect. The dynamic outfielder has been named a starter for the National League squad in this year’s Midsummer Classic at Truist Park, earning his fifth career All-Star nod.
Even though Acuña missed a significant portion of the season due to injury, he still led all NL outfielders in fan voting—demonstrating the strong bond he shares with Braves fans. In a post shared by Grant McAuley of 92.9 The Game on X (formerly Twitter), Acuña expressed deep appreciation for the support.
“It’s amazing. I owe it all to the fans. I missed a lot of time, and without them, I wouldn’t be in this position. They made this dream possible.”Acuña’s selection holds even more weight considering the setting. Truist Park, home of the Braves, will host the All-Star Game for the first time since 2000. He’ll be Atlanta’s lone starter in the lineup, a testament to his star power and resilience following a second major knee injury in just four years.
Ahead of Atlanta’s 8-3 win over the Angels, McAuley also shared another quote from Acuña in which the 2023 NL MVP spoke about his love for the city and the franchise.
“Atlanta is my second home after Venezuela. I love being here. I want to stay with this team for the rest of my career. I feel comfortable here—I know everyone. It would be a dream to remain a Brave for life.”
Now in his eighth season with the Braves, Acuña has built an impressive track record: 174 home runs, 435 RBIs, 858 hits, and a career .292 average. His achievements include an MVP award, Rookie of the Year honors, a World Series championship, and three Silver Sluggers.
Since returning from an ACL injury on May 23, Acuña has been red-hot—batting .350 with nine homers and a 1.077 OPS in just 35 games. Despite missing nearly half the season, his 2.0 fWAR still ranks among the top 10 National League outfielders.
This All-Star appearance is especially meaningful as it comes in front of the fans who helped vote him in—and in the city he calls home.
As the Braves push for a postseason berth, Acuña’s All-Star selection could ignite momentum both on the field and in the stands. With their franchise player returning to elite form and Truist Park set to host baseball’s brightest stars, Atlanta has every reason to believe a strong second half awaits.
