LSU football has brought in Kelvin Bolden from Ole Miss to join its staff as the new assistant general manager, according to multiple reports and Bolden’s own social media announcement on Tuesday.
Bolden, previously the coordinator of recruiting strategy at Ole Miss, will now work under Austin Thomas, LSU’s senior associate athletic director for football administration, who essentially acts as the team’s general manager.
The hiring was first reported by On3.
Bolden played a major role in recruiting at Ole Miss since 2022 and had previously worked with Thomas there. Their reunion comes as LSU continues to overhaul its recruiting staff. Since January 2024, LSU has hired four personnel staff members from Ole Miss.
Bolden is originally from Ocean Springs, Mississippi, and played wide receiver at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College and Southern Miss, graduating in 2011. He was later inducted into the MGCCC Hall of Fame. His previous roles include assistant director of player personnel at Florida in 2021 and assistant wide receivers coach and director of recruiting relations at UCF before joining Ole Miss.
With recent staff departures, more changes are anticipated for LSU’s off-field personnel in the near future.
