BREAKING: Ex-Raiders Son Cut Ties With Raiders Amidst Training Camp, ….Details

With rookies reporting to training camp on Thursday, July 17, and veterans arriving the following Tuesday, July 22, the Las Vegas Raiders made an early roster adjustment. On Monday, the team announced the release of quarterback Carter Bradley.

Bradley, the son of longtime NFL coach and former Raiders defensive coordinator Gus Bradley, joined the team in 2024 as an undrafted free agent from South Alabama. He didn’t see any regular-season action last year, spending time shifting between the practice squad and the active roster. What Does Newly Added QB Bradley Offer the Raiders?During the preseason, Bradley appeared in two games as a rookie, completing 17 of 34 passes for 225 yards, with one touchdown and one interception. His most notable showing came in the preseason finale against the San Francisco 49ers, where he threw for 169 yards on 9-of-21 passing, with a touchdown and a pick. He led a promising late-game drive in that contest, but a sack stalled the momentum, forcing the Raiders to settle for a game-tying field goal.

Bradley’s chances of making the final roster took a hit after the Raiders acquired Geno Smith via trade and drafted Cam Miller in the sixth round. The odds were stacked against him, and cutting him now may give him a better opportunity to catch on with another team in time for the start of their camp.

A six-year college player due to extended eligibility during the COVID-19 era, Bradley split his time between Toledo and South Alabama. His standout season came in his first year with the Jaguars, throwing for over 3,300 yards and 28 touchdowns during a 10-win campaign.

Now 25, Bradley is older than most second-year quarterbacks, but his experience could make him a valuable arm for another team during training camp or preseason. With his release, the Raiders’ quarterback depth chart is now set with Geno Smith as the starter, followed by Aidan O’Connell and rookie Cam Miller.
