On Tuesday night in Seattle, Paige Bueckers recorded her 100th career assist during the second quarter of the game against the Seattle Storm. The milestone came on a pass to Haley Jones and marked a rare achievement—Bueckers now has over 300 points and 100 assists through her first 19 WNBA games.
Only one other player has matched that pace: Caitlin Clark.Clark and Bueckers now share the distinction of being the fastest in league history to reach those numbers, accomplishing the feat in just 19 games. Other WNBA greats—Cynthia Cooper-Dyke, Andrea Stinson, Shannon Johnson, and Sue Bird—took 22 games to hit the same mark.
Before Tuesday’s contest, Bueckers was averaging 18.4 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 5.5 assists per game, fresh off her debut in the WNBA All-Star Game. Despite the Dallas Wings’ struggles in the standings, Bueckers has emerged as a standout performer and a leading Rookie of the Year candidate.
Tuesday’s clash with Seattle was part of a difficult road stretch for the Wings, who are set to face the Golden State Valkyries on Friday night.
