Former Giants running back Tiki Barber will take on a new role this season, stepping into the broadcast booth as a co-host for the team’s pregame and postgame shows on WFAN. The Giants made the announcement recently, with Barber expressing his enthusiasm for joining the broadcast team.“I’m thrilled to be part of the Giants gameday radio crew on WFAN,” Barber said in a statement on the team’s website. “This franchise has been a huge part of my life both on and off the field. The Giants have a proud tradition of iconic broadcasters, and Wellington Mara always encouraged them to be honest with the fans, because our fans know the game. I’m excited to share analysis and insights that Giants fans will value.”
The news coincided with CBS revealing its NFL broadcast teams for the new season—noticeably omitting Barber. Last year, he worked alongside Andrew Catalon and Jason McCourty, but CBS has since reshuffled its crew, replacing Barber with Charles Davis and moving J.J. Watt into Davis’ former spot with Ian Eagle.
Barber, a Giants Ring of Honor inductee since 2010, spent 10 seasons with the team, amassing 10,449 rushing yards and 55 touchdowns, along with 586 receptions for 5,183 yards and 12 scores.
