Micah Parsons shook the NFL landscape on Friday with a bold move that’s sure to grab the Las Vegas Raiders’ attention.
The Dallas Cowboys’ All-Pro pass rusher has officially requested a trade, posting a detailed message on social media expressing his desire to leave the team. The NFL community wasted no time responding, including fellow Cowboys star CeeDee Lamb.
Parsons’ trade request is sure to spark interest from several teams—particularly those in need of elite pass-rushing help or simply tired of seeing Parsons dominate their quarterbacks.
So where do the Raiders come in? Las Vegas could seize the moment by crafting a compelling trade offer for Jerry Jones and the Cowboys front office.
This situation mirrors one the Raiders experienced in 2018, when they traded away star linebacker Khalil Mack to the Chicago Bears. NFL insider Adam Schefter recalled that blockbuster trade on X (formerly Twitter), noting its relevance to the current Parsons scenario.
“When 27-year-old Khalil Mack was traded from Oakland to Chicago, the Bears sent two first-rounders, a third-rounder, and a sixth-rounder in exchange for Mack, a second-round pick, and a conditional fifth,” Schefter posted.
Parsons, at 26, is nearly the same age Mack was during that deal.
Schefter pointed out that Parsons is just the second player in NFL history—alongside Reggie White—to record 12 or more sacks in each of his first four seasons, emphasizing his historic impact.
Now the question is: can the Raiders pull off a similar blockbuster?
One thing is clear—Maxx Crosby is untouchable. Head coach Pete Carroll and the Raiders’ front office have made it clear he’s staying put, especially after signing a $106.5 million extension, which makes him virtually unmovable.
