Several former Las Vegas Raiders players have been on the move this free agency. Although The defensive tackle spent last season with the Minnesota Vikings, he previously had a notable two-year stint in Las Vegas. After a year in the NFC, Tillery is returning to the AFC West.
According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, He has agreed to a one-year contract with the Kansas City Chiefs. This marks the third AFC West team he has played for, having originally been selected in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft by the Los Angeles Chargers.
For much of his career, Tillery has faced off against the Chiefs and quarterback Patrick Mahomes, but now they’ll be on the same side. While the former Notre Dame standout hasn’t quite lived up to his first-round status, he has remained a productive player. With the Chiefs losing defensive tackle Tershawn Wharton and defensive end Josh Uche in free agency, Tillery will help fill the void. His ability to play both inside and outside on the defensive line adds valuable versatility to Kansas City’s defense. However, despite his addition, the Chiefs will likely still look to bolster their defensive line in the upcoming draft.
