Breaking: Bills Star Josh Allen Clinches Top NFL Honor, Details

Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen is earning major recognition as the 2025 NFL season approaches. Despite never having made it to a Super Bowl, Allen continues to be ranked among the league’s elite, highlighted by his MVP win for the 2024 season.

A new post-draft quarterback ranking from Bleacher Report’s Brad Gagnon places Allen at the top of the list. Gagnon used a mix of visual evaluation and a variety of statistical metrics to assess the NFL’s best QBs. Though he considered Lamar Jackson as a close contender, he ultimately named Allen as the No. 1 quarterback heading into the new season.

Gagnon praised Allen’s consistent performance over the last five years, noting that the Pro Football Reference’s Approximate Value metric shows Allen as the NFL’s most valuable player since 2020—well ahead of Mahomes and Jackson. While Jackson may be more dynamic as a runner, Allen has nearly twice as many career rushing touchdowns.

Although Gagnon acknowledged the competition between Allen and Jackson remains tight, he gave Allen the edge for being slightly more dependable and productive in recent seasons.

Meanwhile, CBS Sports analyst Cody Benjamin also ranked the league’s top QBs after the 2025 draft. In contrast to Gagnon, Benjamin placed Allen fifth, noting that while the MVP had an efficient season with a new group of receivers, he still hasn’t overcome the Chiefs’ dominance in the AFC.

Benjamin ranked Washington’s Jayden Daniels at No. 1, citing his remarkable debut season and near-Super Bowl run, describing him as a top choice for any team looking toward the future.
