Breaking: Brian Kelly Announces Major Update Regarding two key defensive starters Ahead Of Summer Workout.

LSU head coach Brian Kelly announced Tuesday at the SEC spring meetings that two key defensive starters—senior Harold Perkins and junior Whit Weeks—have been cleared for full participation in offseason workouts. Both players missed spring practice due to injuries: Perkins was sidelined by an ACL tear suffered in a game against UCLA in September, and Weeks was recovering from a broken fibula and dislocated ankle sustained during the Texas Bowl.

Kelly said both players are now able to take part in all required physical activities, including conditioning and agility drills. Although they might be gradually eased into football-specific drills during the summer, the expectation is that both will be ready for the start of preseason practice.

Weeks led the Tigers with 125 tackles last season, ranking second in the SEC.

Fulwiley Chooses LSU Without Visits

LSU women’s basketball coach Kim Mulkey spoke about the transfer of former South Carolina guard MiLaysia Fulwiley, who committed to LSU in April without visiting any schools. Mulkey said Fulwiley was drawn to LSU’s playing style and its current stars, Mikaylah Williams and Flau’jae Johnson.

“She knew where she wanted to go,” Mulkey said. She also downplayed any concerns about managing playing time in LSU’s deep backcourt, stating that top players are eager to play with other top talent.

Mulkey added that LSU might still add another post player through the transfer portal.

Sarkisian on Arch Manning’s Rise

Texas coach Steve Sarkisian addressed the growing buzz around quarterback Arch Manning, the projected Heisman favorite going into the 2025 season. Sarkisian said the spotlight was part of the plan when Manning chose Texas, as it aligns with building his personal brand. Still, the coach emphasized the importance of ensuring that Manning enjoys his college football experience and remains grounded through the pressures of fame.
