Breaking: Explosive Fallout “$14 Million Edge Rusher” Spark uproar with..

The only way to describe Haason Reddick’s 2024 season is a complete letdown. Before signing with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, he damaged relationships with both the Philadelphia Eagles and New York Jets. With just one week to go before his debut in Tampa, former sports agent Joel Corry issued a warning to Reddick about his future.

Fighting for Another Contract

Reddick has watched fellow edge rushers like Myles Garrett, T.J. Watt, Trey Hendrickson, and Micah Parsons land huge contract extensions over the past two years. Meanwhile, Reddick’s trajectory has gone in the opposite direction.

After inking a three-year, \$45 million deal with the Eagles in 2022, he put together back-to-back standout seasons, racking up 27 sacks over those two years — including a personal best of 16 in 2022. His performance earned him two Pro Bowl selections, a Second-Team All-Pro nod, and a fourth-place finish in Defensive Player of the Year voting.

However, at nearly 31 years old, Reddick now finds himself needing a bounce-back year in Tampa if he wants another major payday.

Rocky Offseason and Decline in Production

Reddick is now on his third team in three years — not a promising sign. A contract dispute disrupted his 2024 offseason, leading to a 90-day holdout that cost him heavily in fines. When he finally returned, he wasn’t the same player.

After four straight seasons of double-digit sacks, Reddick only played 57% of snaps in 2024, finishing the final 10 games with just one sack and 14 tackles.

Joel Corry didn’t sugarcoat it: If Reddick wants to rebuild his financial value, he must prove that last season was just a fluke.

Coach Bowles Confident in Reddick’s Fit

Reddick began his NFL career with the Arizona Cardinals as an off-ball linebacker, tallying 7.5 sacks and 192 tackles in his first three seasons. But it wasn’t until he switched to edge rusher that his career took off. In his contract year, he notched 12.5 sacks, starting a streak of four straight seasons with double-digit sacks.

As Buccaneers senior writer Scott Smith pointed out, Reddick’s 50.5 sacks over that four-year span ranked fourth in the NFL, trailing only T.J. Watt, Myles Garrett, and Trey Hendrickson.

Now, Tampa Bay is betting on him rediscovering that form in 2025. Head coach Todd Bowles is optimistic based on what he’s seen in the preseason.

“He picked up the scheme quickly and meshed with the group right away,” said Bowles. “It’s like he’s been here all along.”

With the Bucs aiming to contend for a Super Bowl and key free agents like Mike Evans and Luke Goedeke on the horizon, Reddick may be under the most pressure of anyone on the roster.
