Georgia Bulldogs Transfer News: Two Players Depart, New Prediction, and Multiple Visits
Thursday was a pivotal day for Georgia in the spring transfer portal.
On the second full day of the spring transfer window, Georgia football was far more active than on Wednesday. The Bulldogs received their first prediction to land a transfer player and also scheduled several visits with high-profile targets.
Before diving into the positive developments, let’s start with the two players who decided to leave Georgia on Thursday.
Two Suspended Bulldogs Departing Georgia
On Wednesday, only running back Branson Robinson entered the portal, but by Thursday, the number of Bulldogs leaving had doubled. Wide receiver Nitro Tuggle and offensive lineman Marques Easley both entered the transfer portal.
Though it’s never easy to see players leave, these two departures make sense given their current suspensions by UGA for unrelated driving incidents earlier this offseason. Both are talented players, but since they’re suspended and unable to practice or play, their exits were somewhat expected.
Georgia’s First Transfer Portal Prediction
Georgia made waves in the transfer portal on Thursday, but the biggest news was their first transfer portal prediction. This came for defensive lineman Sedrick Smith from Alabama A&M, who was already visiting Georgia on Thursday when the prediction was made.
While Smith may not be one of the most highly sought-after transfers, Georgia’s coaching staff, led by Kirby Smart, is known for their ability to develop talent. So, if they’re pursuing Smith, it’s a promising sign for Georgia fans.
Stay tuned, as Smith could make his commitment official at any time.
Multiple Transfers Visiting Georgia
Georgia continues to schedule visits with top players in the portal. Besides Smith, several other players are planning trips to Athens. These include North Carolina EDGE Beau Atkinson, Army EDGE Elo Modozie, and Miami (FL) defensive lineman Joshua Horton.
While a commitment from Smith seems likely, Georgia still has work to do with these three prospects. With EDGE being Georgia’s most pressing position of need, they will likely focus on securing at least one of these players.
