The New York Giants are off to another rough start, among 10 NFL teams still winless this season. With upcoming matchups against tough opponents like the Kansas City Chiefs and Los Angeles Chargers, the pressure is mounting — and the team can’t afford many more mistakes.
As losses continue to pile up, questions are starting to surface about the future of head coach Brian Daboll and general manager Joe Schoen. Even more concerning, the team’s internal morale could begin to unravel. Star players may no longer be willing to risk their careers for what’s looking like another lost season.
One such player is defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence. According to ESPN’s Jordan Raanan, Lawrence is showing clear signs of growing frustration. Raanan notes that this frustration is “building little by little,” as the team appears headed toward another disappointing year.
Since being drafted 17th overall in 2019, Lawrence has made the playoffs only once — in 2022. Since then, the Giants have gone 7-24 with him in the lineup. For a three-time Pro Bowler widely seen as one of the top players at his position, that continued lack of success is taking a toll.
Lawrence, who even has a tattoo of the Giants logo, remains committed on paper — he’s under contract through 2027. But if the losing continues, speculation may grow about whether he could seek a trade. If that day comes, plenty of teams would likely be eager to acquire the 27-year-old star.
