When Patrick Mahomes appeared in the Netflix documentary series Quarterback, fans eagerly anticipated a follow-up. Their excitement grew when they learned that the star QB would be featured in Receiver and would once again serve as an executive producer. Naturally, many assumed his close friend, Travis Kelce, would also take part. However, that wasn’t the case.
The Chiefs’ tight end declined the opportunity. Speaking on Bussin’ With The Boys on June 25, Kelce explained his decision: “After Pat did it, I did get asked about it. I’m just, I don’t know. I’d rather just play ball, man. I’m already doing enough with the podcast and everything. I’m way over the reality sht, dude. I am out on that sht.”
Despite this, Kelce admires his older brother, Jason Kelce, for his work on the documentary Kelce. The film provided a personal look into Jason’s life both on and off the field, chronicled his experiences throughout the 2022-23 NFL season, and captured him contemplating one of his biggest career decisions: retirement.
