The New York Giants have been linked to multiple quarterbacks in offseason rumors, ranging from a potential trade for Matthew Stafford to moving up for the No. 1 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft or signing a veteran in free agency. Now, two top contenders appear to be emerging in their quarterback search.
For weeks, many around the league have anticipated that New York will aggressively pursue a trade with the Tennessee Titans for the first overall pick. This would allow the Giants to select Cam Ward, who is widely regarded as the top quarterback in the 2025 draft class.Despite this, the team is also expected to sign a veteran quarterback in free agency. With head coach Brian Daboll and general manager Joe Schoen under pressure to win in 2025, relying solely on Ward may not be enough to turn things around. As a result, the Giants have taken an aggressive approach this offseason, with two leading candidates emerging.
According to Jordan Raanan of ESPN, New York is “likely” to sign either Aaron Rodgers or Russell Wilson in free agency. Whichever quarterback they add would enter training camp as the presumed starter.
