BREAKING News: Auburn Gives major update regarding Denver Jones after parting ways

It’s been an emotional stretch for the Auburn Tigers basketball team in the days following the close of the 2024-25 season. The program has found itself in the spotlight frequently as news continues to break.

Most recently, guard Denver Jones officially bid farewell to Auburn, becoming the latest player to enter the NBA Draft alongside Johni Broome and Tahaad Pettiford. Pettiford, however, is keeping his NCAA eligibility intact, leaving the door open for a potential return.

In the midst of these departures, head coach Bruce Pearl is already focused on reloading the roster and preparing for a strong 2025-26 campaign. Although Jones’ exit is tough for fans and teammates, it was his goodbye message that truly captured attention.

Jones shared, *”Wouldn’t trade this for anything in the world. #Auburnman4L”*, a message that struck a chord with many. The Auburn Men’s Basketball Instagram account responded by calling him an Auburn Legend,”*—a high honor given the program’s legacy.

Auburn has produced a number of basketball greats over the years, including Chuck Person, Charles Barkley, Wesley Person, Mike Mitchell, and Eddie Johnson.

This season, Jones averaged 10.9 points, 2.0 rebounds, and 2.6 assists per game. Across his four-year college career, he’s posted averages of 12.8 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game.
