BREAKING NEWS: Broncos Linked to the Absolute Worst Free Agent Fit for the Chargers, Fans Worried

The LA Chargers brought back former wide receiver earlier this offseason. With his return, fans have naturally started speculating about the possibility of another veteran making a comeback as well.

Allen has been vocal about wanting to play only in Los Angeles or Chicago next season. With the Bears and Rams seemingly out of the picture, the door is wide open for a reunion with the Chargers—provided the team is interested.

Whether Allen remains firm on his preference for LA or Chicago remains to be seen. Chargers fans certainly hope so, because otherwise, he could end up joining a team they’d least expect—or want.

In a recent article discussing the best fits for remaining free agents, Bleacher Report’s Kristopher Knox linked Allen to a team that would be a nightmare for Chargers fans: the Denver Broncos.

Knox argues that any team interested in Cooper Kupp should also consider Allen. The Broncos were in the mix for Kupp, who ultimately signed with the Seattle Seahawks. While they may have balked at Kupp’s price tag, Allen would likely come at a more affordable cost—potentially around $10 million per season on a short-term deal.Los Angeles Chargers v Denver BroncosSeeing a franchise icon sign with one of the Chargers’ biggest rivals would be tough for fans, especially since Allen would be an ideal fit in Denver. He could thrive in the slot, giving young quarterback Bo Nix a reliable target on the outside.

If Allen is truly committed to playing only in LA or Chicago, the Chargers have little to worry about. However, if the team isn’t interested, turning down a lucrative offer elsewhere might not be so easy.

Knox also mentioned the Las Vegas Raiders as another possible destination, though that seems less likely. The Raiders aren’t as competitive as the Chargers or Broncos, which could be a deterrent for Allen. That said, Allen grew up in the Bay Area and once sparked discussion by posting a photo in a Raiders hat after being drafted in 2013. If he had childhood aspirations of playing for the Raiders, that could factor into his decision.
