BREAKING: Paige Bueckers Makes Deeply Emotional Admission After First-Ever WNBA All-Star Appearance

From idolizing her Minnesota Lynx heroes to becoming a breakout star at the 2025 WNBA All-Star Game, Paige Bueckers’ rise has been nothing short of remarkable.

In just her first year with the Dallas Wings, Bueckers didn’t just make her All-Star debut — she made history by sinking the WNBA’s first-ever four-point shot to open the game. Her performance helped lead Team Napheesa Collier to a 151-131 win over Team Caitlin Clark in Indianapolis. But for Bueckers, the moment held a deeper significance.Paige Bueckers, UConn: The Huskies' freshman basketball star is ludicrously great.Reflecting on her journey, Bueckers spoke about how surreal it felt to be coached by Cheryl Reeve, someone she grew up admiring, and to now share the court with the league’s elite.

“It’s crazy to think about the path I’ve taken—from being that kid dreaming about the Lynx to starting in the All-Star Game,” she said. “I’m just incredibly thankful.”

Her All-Star appearance capped off a strong rookie season that’s seen her average 18.4 points, 5.5 assists, 4.0 rebounds, and 1.7 steals per game. But beyond the stats, Bueckers has embraced the grind and learning curve of the WNBA, soaking up lessons from fellow UConn alumni like Gabby Williams and Breanna Stewart.

“You form this sisterhood,” she said. “I’ve been learning so much — just being a sponge.”

She’s also handled the spotlight with humor and grace. During the All-Star Game, she impersonated Geno Auriemma’s likely opinion of the defense: “Just completely awful. Disturbing demonstration of basketball on both ends,” she joked.

Away from the cameras, Bueckers is all business when it comes to recovery and preparation. “It’s constant work—manual therapy, ice baths, Pilates, treatment,” she explained. “Taking care of your body is everything.”

Bueckers’ All-Star nod wasn’t symbolic — it was earned. And in just a few months, she’s proven she belongs among the WNBA’s best.
