Texas Rangers veteran pitcher Nathan Eovaldi is enjoying one of the finest seasons of his career. In 16 starts, the 35-year-old right-hander has compiled a 7–3 record with a dazzling 1.58 ERA and 94 strikeouts. Aside from a brief injury absence, he’s been nothing short of dominant — and is on pace to post the lowest ERA of his long career.Despite his stellar performance, Eovaldi was not selected to this year’s MLB All-Star Game. He had previously earned All-Star honors in 2021 and 2023, but missed out this season in part because he pitched the Sunday before the game, making him ineligible to be added as a replacement. Other pitchers, including Tarik Skubal, Hunter Brown, and Max Fried, were among those chosen for the American League squad.
Even though Eovaldi wasn’t selected, the Rangers still honored the $100,000 All-Star bonus in his contract — a clear sign of the organization’s belief that he’s performed at an All-Star level.
Now in his third season with Texas, Eovaldi remains a key part of the rotation. He played a crucial role in the Rangers’ 2023 World Series title and is a big reason why they currently lead the league in team ERA.
