The New York Giants must nail the 2025 NFL Draft after a disastrous 3-14 season. They parted ways with Daniel Jones and watched Saquon Barkley win a Super Bowl with the Philadelphia Eagles. Despite the rough year, head coach Brian Daboll and general manager Joe Schoen remain in place. With a crucial draft ahead, let’s see how the Giants fare in Pro Football Network’s mock draft simulator.
Holding the third overall pick, the Giants also own the 34th and 65th selections in the first three rounds. Beyond that, they have five more picks in the later rounds. According to PFN, their biggest needs include quarterback, offensive tackle, cornerback, tight end, and offensive guard. But which position will they prioritize with their top pick?
Using PFN’s simulator, the Giants select Colorado’s Travis Hunter, the best player available. The team needs a quarterback, but after a late-season win dropped them to the third pick, they miss out on Cam Ward and Shedeur Sanders. Instead, they land Hunter, an elite two-way player who shined under Deion Sanders at Colorado, winning the 2024 Heisman Trophy.
Hunter dominated on both sides of the ball, recording 96 receptions for 15 touchdowns while also grabbing four interceptions. His athleticism makes him a seamless fit in the NFL, whether at cornerback or wide receiver. While quarterback remains a pressing need, reaching for one outside the top two doesn’t make sense here. The Giants could address that position later in the draft or through free agency.
