Cristiano Ronaldo’s Future Sealed: A New Deal with Al-Nassr?

If reports from the Italian and Saudi press are to be believed, Cristiano Ronaldo has made up his mind. The Portuguese superstar has allegedly struck a deal with Al-Nassr to extend his contract, securing his future with the club.

Cristiano Ronaldo has never shied away from his ambitions. Even at 40, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner remains determined to achieve one of football’s most symbolic milestones: 1,000 career goals. “My goal is to hit 1,000 goals, and the difference is, every single one of mine has video proof,” he recently told Rio Ferdinand in an interview.

Currently at 924 goals, Ronaldo is closing in on the target but will likely need two to three more seasons at a high level to reach it. However, with his contract at Al-Nassr set to expire this summer, speculation had been growing about his future. Would he make a dramatic return to Europe, or continue his journey in Saudi Arabia?

According to reports from Saudi and Italian media, the answer is now clear: Ronaldo is staying put. Saudi outlet Arriyadiyah confirmed that the Portuguese superstar has agreed to extend his contract with Al-Nassr, while Italy’s TV dello Sport revealed that the new deal runs until 2026, with an optional extension until 2027. While financial details remain undisclosed, sources suggest they are similar to the record-breaking agreement he signed in January 2023.

This extension means Ronaldo could be playing at 42 years old, a remarkable feat for a player who continues to defy age. It also brings him closer to fulfilling another personal dream: playing alongside his son. Cristiano Ronaldo Jr., who currently trains in Al-Nassr’s youth academy, will be 17 in 2027—the same year his father’s optional extension would take effect.

Beyond personal ambitions, Ronaldo is also nearing another milestone with his club. Since joining Al-Nassr, he has already scored 88 goals, meaning he is just 12 away from reaching 100 with the Saudi Pro League side. Given his current form, it’s only a matter of time before he adds that achievement to his legendary career.

With his future now settled, Ronaldo can fully focus on his relentless pursuit of greatness. Whether it’s chasing records, winning trophies, or inspiring the next generation, one thing is certain: Cristiano Ronaldo is far from done rewriting football history.
