GROUNDBREAKING: Dolphins Officially Confirms An Intriguing Deal For Five-Times All-pro Offensive Tackle.

The Miami Dolphins still have several gaps to fill on their offensive line. Although they recently signed James Daniels and Larry Borom to help address the issue, many believe they are not finished making moves. Christian D’Andrea of For The Win suggested that the Dolphins could be a potential destination for five-time All-Pro offensive tackle Tyron Smith.

Smith, who hasn’t played a full season since 2015, might consider retirement after a 10-game 2024 campaign. However, if he chooses to continue playing, he could strengthen his Hall of Fame credentials while providing a reliable presence—when healthy—on the offensive line.Tyron Smith placed on IR, likely ending year and maybe Jets career - ABC7 New YorkDespite injury struggles, Smith remains one of the top offensive tackles when available. He earned second-team All-Pro honors as recently as 2023 and received a 73.7 PFF grade in ten games last season. Drafted ninth overall by the Dallas Cowboys in 2011, he spent 13 seasons with the franchise before joining the New York Jets last offseason. Unfortunately, a neck injury cut his season short, but he still played a valuable mentorship role for young linemen Olu Fashanu and Joe Tippman.

Since 2020, Smith has appeared in just 40 of a possible 84 games. However, with Dolphins left tackle Terron Armstead expected to retire, Smith could provide much-needed reinforcement. Over his 14-year career, he has earned five All-Pro selections and made eight Pro Bowl appearances.
