Auburn linebacker D’Angelo Barber is facing serious legal issues following a recent traffic stop that led to his arrest and multiple drug-related charges.

As reported by AL.com, Barber was apprehended in Dadeville on charges of drug possession and trafficking, according to a press release from the Tallapoosa County Narcotics Task Force. The arrest occurred during a Monday morning traffic stop, along with another individual, Marcell Brewster.

Officials stated that police had probable cause to search the vehicle, where they found a significant quantity of marijuana, a handgun, and a large sum of cash. Among the items seized were over 2 pounds of marijuana, THC vapes, digital scales, nearly $1,900 in cash, and a Glock 9mm handgun. Barber now faces charges of marijuana trafficking, unlawful possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was booked into Tallapoosa County Jail following his arrest. Barber, who joined Auburn in the 2024 recruiting class as a 3-star prospect, made his debut for the Tigers in a game against Alabama A&M. This incident adds to what has already been a tough offseason for Auburn and head coach Hugh Freeze. The team’s response to the situation remains to be seen.
