The Auburn football coaching staff remains aggressive in recruiting efforts following spring practices. Recently, the Tigers secured an official visit from one of the top quarterbacks in the 2026 class.
Landon Duckworth, a 4-star prospect from Jackson, Alabama, ranks as the No. 6 quarterback and the No. 5 overall recruit in the state. He led his team to a 4A state championship last season, throwing for 3,439 yards and 39 touchdowns, while also rushing for 648 yards and 12 scores. Duckworth is a multi-sport athlete who also competes in basketball and track.
Per 247 Sports, Duckworth has scheduled five official visits this summer. He’ll visit Auburn on the weekend of May 16, followed by Georgia on May 30, South Carolina on June 6, Florida State on June 13, and Ole Miss on June 20.
Originally committed to South Carolina on August 5, 2023, Duckworth decommitted on June 25, 2024. Despite that, the Gamecocks remain strong contenders for his commitment. He visited Columbia earlier this month to attend a spring practice, and South Carolina is still considered the frontrunner.
At present, Auburn’s 2026 football recruiting class consists of seven commitments and holds the No. 23 national ranking, though the Tigers have not yet secured a quarterback for the class.
