The St. Louis Cardinals made a pair of roster moves on Thursday, selecting the contract of right-handed pitcher Andre Granillo and recalling outfielder Michael Siani from Triple-A Memphis.
To make room on the roster, the team optioned right-hander Chris Roycroft and designated outfielder Ryan Vilade for assignment.Granillo, 25, is poised for his MLB debut after posting a 4-0 record with a 1.82 ERA across 18 relief outings in Memphis, limiting hitters to a .159 batting average.
Siani, also 25, returns after going 4-for-16 (.250) in 18 games for St. Louis earlier this season. Over parts of four seasons with the Reds (2022–23) and Cardinals, he owns a .222 career batting average with two home runs and 20 RBIs.
Roycroft, 27, struggled in the bullpen this season, recording a 1-3 mark with a 6.92 ERA in 14 appearances. Vilade, 26, had just one hit in 13 at-bats (.077) over seven games.
