The Chicago Cubs aren’t just chasing a division crown—they have their eyes set on a much bigger prize: their first World Series championship since 2016. That ambition is echoed by star right fielder Kyle Tucker, who believes this team has the talent and potential to do something special.
“The ultimate goal is winning the World Series,” Tucker said during an appearance on Cubs Live. “That’s been the mindset from the start of spring training. We’ve got a strong group, and if we can stay healthy and peak at the right time, I think we can accomplish something big.”Tucker, who has three World Series appearances and one championship ring from his time with the Houston Astros, knows what it takes to compete on baseball’s biggest stage. His experience brings valuable perspective to a Cubs team that’s aiming high.
“This isn’t just about showing up and going through the motions,” he said. “We’re playing to win every game, to entertain these fans, and to bring something special back to Chicago. If that’s not your mindset, there’s no point in being here.”
So far, the Cubs have backed up that mindset with strong play, boasting a 44-26 record and a 5.5-game lead in the division heading into a key three-game series against the second-place Milwaukee Brewers.
Tucker has been a key contributor, slashing .277 with 13 doubles, 13 home runs, 43 RBIs, and an .893 OPS. His performance has earned him the most All-Star votes among National League right fielders. If both Tucker and the rest of the lineup continue producing at this level, the Cubs could be poised for a serious postseason run.
