Just In: Dallas Star rejects New deal set To commit with Eagles, More

Trade rumors are heating up as both Mark Andrews and Dallas Goedert enter the final year of their contracts. The Eagles, like the Ravens, could free up significant cap space—around $11 million—by moving Goedert, and teams such as the Giants have already expressed interest. This aligns with the depth of this year’s tight end draft class, which features top prospects like Penn State’s Tyler Warren and Michigan’s Colston Loveland.

As the 2025 NFL Draft approaches, tight end ranks high among the Eagles’ positional needs. Though a trade involving Goedert might not be ideal, it highlights the need for a long-term replacement. Currently, the team lacks a proven backup, and recent additions haven’t moved the needle. While it’s unlikely Philly drafts a tight end with their first-round pick (No. 32), trading down or using a Day 2 selection could bring in a promising option—potentially LSU’s Mason Taylor or Miami’s Elijah Arroyo.

If a Goedert trade happens, his value may fall somewhere close to what the Cardinals paid for Zach Ertz—a fifth-rounder and a depth player—rather than the more lopsided Darren Waller deal.

Looking ahead, the Eagles could target one of several tight end prospects in the second or third round. Nick Sirianni emphasized versatility and receiving ability when scouting TEs, indicating the team may prioritize pass-catching traits in their next pick.
