“I don’t have any hard feelings toward the Nationals,” Fedde said after the game, according to The Athletic. “They gave me every chance—they drafted me, helped me make it to the majors. I’m really grateful to them for that. But any time a team lets you go, there’s always that extra motivation to prove you’ve improved.”
After a stint overseas in 2023, Fedde was picked up by St. Louis. Originally selected by Washington in the first round of the 2014 MLB Draft, he spent several years with the team before parting ways.
Fedde looked revitalized on the mound as the Cardinals shut out his former team 10-0, marking their sixth straight win. He threw a complete game, giving up just six hits.
Now 3-3 on the season with a 3.86 ERA, Fedde said he felt strong in his outing against the Nationals on Friday.
