In today’s college football landscape, recruiting is a nonstop process—even with your own players. Auburn head coach Hugh Freeze and his staff anticipated the need to bring in several impact players through the transfer portal due to NFL departures and expiring eligibility.
Leading the group of new additions is former Oklahoma quarterback Jackson Arnold. Auburn will enter the 2025 season with an entirely new quarterback lineup, and fans are hopeful for a step forward at the position compared to last year.
Another standout transfer is wide receiver Eric Singleton Jr. from Georgia Tech, who adds skill and experience to the receiving corps. He’s expected to take on a role similar to that of KeAndre Lambert-Smith, who was recently selected by the Los Angeles Chargers in the fifth round of the 2025 NFL Draft.
Auburn brought in 20 transfers after the 2024 season, earning the No. 8 transfer class ranking in the country by 247 Sports.
Is Auburn finished in the portal? When asked, Freeze stopped short of a definitive “no.”
“I think so,” he told AL.com. “I don’t know of a single thing right now that interestsus in it.”
