Just In: Phillies Fans in Shock After Pitchers Future Takes unexpected Twist.

As the Philadelphia Phillies prepare for the playoffs, they’re making key roster adjustments. Among them is the decision to part ways with 29-year-old outfielder Brewer Hicklen.

Hicklen, who was previously with the Detroit Tigers organization, had shown some promise in Triple-A with Toledo before being added to the Phillies’ 40-man roster. However, his Major League experience is minimal—just 10 games total, including a brief appearance this season with Detroit.

On Tuesday, the Phillies **designated Hicklen for assignment** in order to clear space for **Rafael Lantigua**, whose contract was selected to fill in for the injured **Edmundo Sosa** (groin). Lantigua now joins the active roster.

According to CBS Sports:

> “The Phillies designated Hicklen for assignment Tuesday… The 29-year-old has spent the vast majority of the season as organizational depth at Triple-A, hitting .224 with a .319 on-base percentage and .409 slugging percentage over 386 plate appearances.”

As the postseason approaches, Philadelphia may continue to tweak the roster to maximize their chances. With championship hopes in sight, the team is prepared to make difficult but strategic moves.
