JUST IN: Worrying Update Regarding Jets’ ‘YAC King’ Malachi Corley

In a struggling Jets offense led by Aaron Rodgers, Corley managed just three receptions for 16 yards, effectively fading into the background.

However, it was only his first season, and there’s still room for optimism. With a new coaching staff in place, including offensive coordinator Tanner Engstrand and defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn, Corley will get another opportunity to prove himself this offseason.

Despite the presence of star receiver Garrett Wilson, New York’s receiving corps is generally viewed as one of the weakest in the league, meaning Corley could carve out a role if he shows promise.New York Jets wide receiver Malachi CorleyCBS Sports believes the 2024 third-round pick out of Western Kentucky could be a surprise contributor in 2025.

“There was considerable hype when the Jets drafted Corley,” CBS Sports wrote. “But that never translated into results, as his rookie campaign was marred by errors—such as prematurely dropping the ball before crossing the goal line against Houston.

“Still, with a new coaching regime and a shallow depth chart behind Wilson, Corley has a legitimate chance to work his way up if he earns the staff’s trust.”

So, what can be expected from Corley this season? It’s probably unrealistic to anticipate 800 yards and multiple touchdowns, but the focus is more on capitalizing when chances come his way.

He appeared in just 91 total snaps on offense and special teams last year. Increasing that number will be essential, but he’ll need to prove he deserves more playing time.

With OTAs, mini-camp, and training camp ahead, Corley has a real shot at ascending the depth chart in 2025—he just needs to seize it.
