Lindor Chasing History: Mets Star on Brink of Shattering Granderson’s Franchise Record in Electrifying Run

The four-time All-Star showcased his switch-hitting prowess by going deep from both sides of the plate against the Rockies on Friday. He’s now approaching a notable franchise milestone.

On Monday, Lindor launched his sixth leadoff homer of the season in a game against the Los Angeles Dodgers. He’s now just two shy of tying the Mets’ single-season record of seven, set by Curtis Granderson in both 2015 and 2016, according to Sarah Langs on X.Jun 2, 2025; Los Angeles, California, USA; New York Mets shortstop Francisco Lindor (12) rounds the bases during the first inning against the Los Angeles Dodgers during the first inning against the New York Mets at Dodger Stadium. Alongside Pete Alonso, Lindor helped establish a new Mets benchmark. The duo each went yard in Sunday’s game, marking the 28th time they’ve both homered in the same contest. That breaks the previous franchise record held by Darryl Strawberry and Howard Johnson, who accomplished the feat 27 times.

While the Mets made a significant investment in superstar outfielder Juan Soto this past offseason, it’s Lindor who continues to be the team’s emotional and on-field leader. As Soto battles through early-season struggles, Lindor is catching fire.
