The full 2025 schedule for the Los Angeles Rams was unveiled alongside those of the other 31 NFL teams. The league appears confident in the Rams, led by head coach Sean McVay and quarterback Matthew Stafford.
The Rams were given four primetime games, plus an additional standalone matchup in London, which will be broadcast early in the morning in the U.S.
This scheduling decision supports ESPN reporter Sarah Barshop’s key takeaway: the NFL sees the Rams as a competitive and relevant team in 2025. “The NFL expects the Rams to be a good and relevant team, giving Los Angeles five standalone games, including two of their last three games of the season,” Barshop wrote on May 14. “Three of those five island games are away from SoFi Stadium, including the back-to-back in Weeks 16 and 17.”Notably, the Rams will log the second-highest travel mileage in the league next season, behind only the Chargers.
Barshop also highlighted McVay’s consistent success, having reached the playoffs in six of his eight seasons as head coach. The Rams have made the postseason in three of four years since acquiring Stafford. She added that the core of the 2024 squad, which won 10 games, is returning.
Jourdan Rodrigue of The Athletic emphasized offseason improvements, particularly “small but important” additions such as defensive lineman Poona Ford. Rodrigue projected the Rams will win 12 games and repeat as NFC West champions for the first time since 2017–2018. She credited recent strong draft classes and a supporting cast around Stafford.
Barshop predicted the Rams would win at least seven of their final 10 games. She noted that the team has made playoff pushes over the past two seasons after slow starts (3-6 in 2023 and 1-4 in 2024), and the 2025 schedule appears to favor another late-season surge, with minimal exposure to cold-weather games.
Stafford’s struggles in cold weather were a storyline ahead of last season’s playoff loss to the Eagles, who ultimately won the Super Bowl. That game, a 28-22 defeat in snowy conditions, was the closest contest the Eagles faced in the playoffs. Eagles cornerback Darius Slay Jr. even called the Rams their toughest challenge.
A rematch is set for Week 3 of the 2025 season, a game both Barshop and Rodrigue emphasized as must-see. Rodrigue called it a battle against the best offense and defense LA will face. Barshop encouraged fans to mark their calendars, noting that weather likely won’t be a factor this time.
Three of the Rams’ four primetime games fall in the second half of the season, which may reflect the league’s belief that the team will hit its stride late.
Stafford has struggled against Philadelphia with the Rams (0-3), though he’s 4-3 against them over his career.
