Tigers’ Triumph: Auburn Standout Crowned ESPN’s Most Impactful Transfer

The Auburn Tigers are looking to turn things around in 2025, aiming to snap a four-year streak of losing seasons and avoid matching their longest such run, which occurred from 1946 to 1950. To reach bowl eligibility, secure a winning record, and potentially preserve head coach Hugh Freeze’s position, the Tigers’ offense must perform at a high level. Despite the promise of rising stars Cam Coleman and Malcolm Simmons at wide receiver, the team still needs a dependable veteran to fill the void left by top receiver KeAndre Lambert-Smith, who has moved on to the next level.Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, Eric Singleton Jr.Fortunately for Auburn, they landed one of the top receivers available in the winter transfer portal.

Former Georgia Tech standout Eric Singleton Jr. joins the Tigers for the 2025 season with two years of eligibility remaining. During his two seasons with the Yellow Jackets, Singleton recorded 104 receptions for 1,468 yards and nine touchdowns across 24 games, along with 140 rushing yards and an additional touchdown on the ground. He led Georgia Tech in receiving yards and touchdowns in both years.

Singleton’s sophomore campaign saw him set career highs, tallying 56 catches for 754 yards and three touchdowns, along with 131 rushing yards and a score on 21 carries.

Ranked as the top wide receiver and the No. 6 overall transfer by ESPN’s Max Olson, Singleton is expected to be a central figure in Auburn’s passing attack. Olson noted that Singleton made an immediate impact at Georgia Tech, earning Freshman All-America honors in 2023 and finishing as the runner-up for ACC Offensive Rookie of the Year. Over two seasons, he totaled 104 receptions, 1,468 receiving yards, and 10 total touchdowns.

With Singleton now in Auburn’s lineup, the Tigers have a potential future first-round NFL Draft pick who will play a critical role in replacing departed weapons like KeAndre Lambert-Smith and tight end Rivaldo Fairweather.
