Depending on how the offseason unfolds, the Las Vegas Raiders could emerge as a top sleeper team in the NFL for the 2025 season. With new head coach Pete Carroll, a proven winner, and a roster featuring several strong pieces, the team has potential. However, significant improvements are needed at both quarterback and wide receiver. Fortunately, upgrading both positions in a big way is within reach.
Mason Cameron of Pro Football Focus outlined an ideal scenario for the Raiders, suggesting they could sign Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver and draft Miami quarterback , “With $92 million in cap space, new general manager John Spytek has the financial flexibility to make a major splash in free agency,” Cameron noted. “If Higgins avoids the franchise tag, he’ll demand a lucrative contract, and the Raiders have the resources to compete for his signature while still bolstering the roster around him.“While it’s unlikely a top quarterback prospect falls to Las Vegas at the sixth overall pick, they could either land one unexpectedly or trade up into the top three to secure their future signal-caller.”
Although reports indicate the Bengals may use the franchise tag on Higgins, nothing is official yet, leaving the door open for him to become a free agent. If the Raiders manage to land both Higgins and Ward, they could position themselves as serious playoff contenders next season.
